Frequently Asked Questions
Will we increase the fire resistance of steel doors if the outer surface is repainted with the fire resistant paint?
No. Fire resistant paint for steel doors does not have affect on the fire resistance!
Can I produce fire doors if I don't have machines for cutting and bending sheet metal?
Of course you can! Based on our documentation, by using our cutting software, you give all the dimensions to the company for cutting and bending sheet metal. Tools you need are CO2 welding machine, spot welding machine, small and large grinders, hand drills and the other smaller tools. The doors per m2 are quite heavy (30-60 kg/m2) and require strong and skilled craftsmen.
Do I need a certificate for every kind and type of doors?
Yes you need! The JUS TP wrote that 212002 certified f door shall not be modified later in any way. During testing, the sample is prepared with all equipment that is expected to be in practice during normal use. This means that it is necessary to examine all steel hinged single and double door with fire resistance F30, F60, F90 or F120 min, sliding single and double steel doors F30, F60, F90 and F120 min, single and double blinded swing doors F30, F60, F90 or F120 min, steel doors for flats coated with a thin laminate on the F30 or F60 min. Reduction in a number of tests can occur if you test the door with part glazed surfaces. Such reports can also cover certificates for doors without glass surfaces as it is considered that the conditions are easier for fire resistance. Also, the sliding door testing is done with a pedestrian door and certificate also covers doors without them. Of course, the manufacturer may test only one type and produce only that type: for example, single-steel full F90 min. doors

Do fire doors have a smoke and noise protection as well?
The basic variant of fire doors have fire protection only to the stated time of 30, 60, 90 or 120 min. Smoke resistance is obtained by installing two rows of self-extinguishing rubber seals, in respect to the area of frame and door wings. This special feature needs to be proven by special attest on the penetration of cold and hot smoke. Noise protection is also possible only by installing rubber gaskets. This feature also needs to be proven by a special attest to the sound protection that is classified by different categories.
